Here’s my twopence worth…

I get my news online.

Getting news off my laptop is quicker, much kinder to trees (saves me putting on sandals and going out hugging all of them to show I care) and I can get local, national and global news from a variety of sources for a more rounded opinion with updates on music, travel, food, fashion, etc, etc as it happens, that second, without drowning in paper. Online news gives me clips, music, commentary and links if I want to know more – much more exciting and interactive.

Don’t get me wrong, newspapers do still have a place …afterall, I’ve tried to wrap my chips in my Macbook and attempted to cover my furniture and floor with lots of Macbooks when painting and decorating – neither of which were very successful. Laptops also don’t double up as fly swatters or paper planes particularly well. And, I think I’d miss flicking through the supplements on a Sunday morning in bed while I drink my tea if I’m honest – I like looking at the pictures – and, thinking about it, it’s a lot easier to read a paper on the tube (normally over someone’s shoulder).

So – there you go. My vote goes with the computer for news – I hope that goes some way to making you smile in the photo Sam.
